講演題目: Atoms and solids in laser and electron pulses: Nondipole and electron correlation effects
Abstract
In intense laser fields, it is usually assumed that the electron-dipole approximation is accurate. However, this assumption may not hold as the wavelength of the driving field becomes long and enters the mid-infrared regime. In this talk, the speaker discusses a theory that goes beyond the electron-dipole approximation [1]. This theory is applied to above threshold ionization (ATI), where a shift in the energy-conserving ATI rings is observed due to the nondipole effects [2]. This shift causes the ATI peaks to disappear, but they can be made to reappear if the shift is accounted for [3]. In the adiabatic regime, it is shown how nondipole effects can be considered in the tunneling regime for the initial conditions used in two- and three-step models [4]. The talk also covers beyond-electric-dipole effects in intraband high-order harmonic generation in solids [5]. In the last part of the talk, the speaker briefly reports on new findings regarding the impact of electron correlation on high-harmonic generation in solids [6]. Finally, the speaker concludes with a perspective on using ultrafast electron pulses to study electron dynamics on the subfemtosecond timescale [7].
